current time to upgrade

Default current time to upgrade

Curious the current time to upgrade for someone qualified. Prior 121 with EMB145 type and a few thousand PIC. Thanks.

basically within a few months finishing training. can't tell you exact at the moment because of the delay in training is changing, etc. but essentially there are guys with your quals in my training class and they are trying to figure this out exactly. If you want, message me and I can get you in touch with one of them for their current take.

I know guys in my class have been asked to give their 135 PIC time for upgrade consideration

I believe that 135 only counts if it was scheduled 135 like Cape Air or something similar, or if it was in a turbojet requiring an ATP and dual crew.

§ 121.436 Pilot Qualification: Certificates and experience requirements.


(3) If serving as pilot in command in part 121 operations, has 1,000 hours as second in command in operations under this part, pilot in command in operations under § 91.1053(a)(2)(i) of this chapter, pilot in command in operations under § 135.243(a)(1) of this chapter, or any combination thereof. For those pilots who are employed as pilot in command in part 121 operations on July 31, 2013, compliance with the requirements of this paragraph (a)(3) is not required.

(c) For the purpose of satisfying the flight hour requirement in paragraph (a)(3) of this section, a pilot may credit 500 hours of military flight time obtained as pilot in command of a multiengine turbine-powered, fixed-wing airplane in an operation requiring more than one pilot.

November 16' new hire (came from another 121 operator). Guys junior to me from class were awarded upgrade this bid. My bid will be in on the next one. So currently six to seven months.
