Piedmont AQP Program
Curious if anyone has any thoughts about the PDT AQP program. I just got my cd and packet of info today. Class starts in about a week and a half. There really weren't directions in the cd but seems like theres just about anything you need to know in there. I wonder if they expect us to go through the whole thing. Any advice from some experienced PDT pilots would greatly be appreciated.

I'm pretty sure there's a file on the CD that explains what they expect you to do with it. You need to study the material on that CD and come to class prepared with that knowledge so that they can add on to it as they train you with the fire hose.
Good luck! |
Maybe I'm missing something but I'm not seeing any folder explaining what to do.
|
There isn't anything that tells you what to do. There should be a folder with some tests that you have to print out and complete. I would suggest knowing the memories cold by the time you get to training and also read through and have a general knowledge of the FOM and systems. The find function on Adobe is helpful for the test answers.

Print out and do the tests.
Memorize the limitations. If you have those down, then start working on memorizing the flows. A cockpit poster will do you wonders here...Sportys sells a -200 poster set that works well enough. It's expensive, but it'll help you visualize. That will be more than enough to occupy your 1 1/2 weeks until training. If you want to get squirrely, go ahead and start reading up on some systems. |
Schoolio thanks for the response. Yea looks like I will have to go through systems because there is a systems quiz to be taken.
|
I wouldn't waste money on a poster from Sporty's. They gave us anything else we needed once we got to training.

All the other regionals have dropped their hiring mins to the 500-600 TT range. An upgrade at PDT is non-existent right now. If you're looking to move on to a major and want to be there within the next five years you need to pass Piedmont up. If being based in MDT or LGA means that you get to live at home, then I guess PDT will be alright for a few months. Don't expect to be logging any Turbine PIC time for at least 6-7 years. Other places you'll be logging Jet PIC time in 2-3 years. Anyway, Good Luck. When you run into S.F., J.B. or J.K. tell them I said F.U. |
