Previous 121 PDT Interview
Anyone on here came to PDT from another regional recently? What was the interview like? Were there any major differences between the 121 experience interview and a regular one?
Interview 21 March, so just trying to gather as much info as I can. Thanks! |
Nothing? :(

Dated information as I interviewed almost one year ago, but the interview seemed to be the same for everyone. All of the online gouges were spot on. Study the Sheppard Air stuff for the written.

Interview 21 March, so just trying to gather as much info as I can. Thanks! 5 of the 12 in my interview group were from other regionals. They all failed the written test and went home. I agree, Sheppard Air is spot on. This was in Nov 2016 and it changed my perception on the whole “if you’re breathing, you’re hired” mindset... |
I ran into a couple of guys who just finished an interview in CLT. Both said they failed the written and were sent home and both were military so they are definitely turning people away. They did say they were offered another chance to interview in April. Study the Sheppard Air app and bring your logbook and all the required documents and put on pants. I shouldn't have to tell people to bring their logbooks but there were two gentlemen in my interview group who didn't. Of course, they were sent home right away.

Crazy part is the company tells you how to contact Sheppard Air and what to study for the interview. They literally spell it out for you. They need pilots and want to hire you. Study and put in the effort, it’s your job to lose once they call you for the interview.
|
I have no sympathy for the folks who are too lazy/cheap to go study for the written and get sent home before lunch on interview day.
The test isn’t that difficult. Those who fail it aren’t putting the effort in. |

Lots of people from the military and previous 121 did ZERO prep and expected the job to be handed to them. They went home early. I was told this happened a LOT. Just be able to pass an atp style written, brief an approach and know what the symbols on a Jeep chart mean. If you don’t, tell them you don’t but u know where to find it. Read wx. Know when reports are issued and how long valid. Blow them away with knowledge of exemption 3585. The interviews are pretty much all the same.

I second the above poster! Only don’t call it exemption 3585... it’s now exemption 17347. You’ll definitely wow them...
