Default Piedmont Reserve Rules

Was wondering if someone can tell me what the reserve rules are at Piedmont. I know its not really used much right now but i want to know for the future.

Are they usually 5 day blocks of rsv days?
What are the availability periods?
Airport stby?
Do they assign trips based on reverse seniority?
Any kind of proffering system for the next day?

2, 3, 4, 5 and six day blocks.. can't be involuntarily kept out more than 5 days. Normal rap is 0500 to 1900 but they can make it any 14 hour period during the day. 11 days off can be expected.

90 minute call out and no up front parking on a short call out.

I will not comment on the rumors of future reserve in negotiations now.

Hopefully they’ll at least increase the normal call out to the industry average 2 hours.

Do they assign available trips the day prior or does everyone start the day on call regardless?

It is not uncommon to be notified the day prior to a trip. Depends on when they know of needing a reserve pilot (covering short notice day of for a sick call or covering an uncovered trip from open time, for example), and also how early the report time is. If they know the day prior to the trip starting that they will need you but the report time is sufficiently late enough in the day, they may not notify you till day of.

tl;dr: It depends.

Is it possible to see how many pilots below you haven’t been called yet? For example at AE back in the day and currently you can keep tabs on the rsv list and see when your next in line to be called.

I’m asking because one of the places I’d use for a crash pad is right at 1:30 from the airport so I’d need a little bit of a head start.

No.. we have no means of knowing who is going to be called and they are not required to be used in any order.

My last month I was on reserve, i was short called 7 times in the month..

Reserve at pdt is brutal. our friends at mainline are treated like hero's when they are on reserve.

Yeah no way to tell. Piedmont is very technology challenged. The airline is run by a bunch of desktop computer “servers” on a shelf at HQ..

A flight attendant told me that they got an email recently saying the ready reserve room in PHL would be complete very soon with cots.. to house 2 FAs/2FOs/2CAs...

Oh there is some pretty poor language in the APA contract for rsv. The pay is certainly better at Pdt than aa w regards to the language. Over gar, MMD, extension pay- extra day off ect. AA can force you to work until 12pm on a day off w no extra pay. I’ve just scratched the surface, but way I’m reading it... 100x more grey than Pdt. But, the big items like SIN and “prompt” call out time are by far the best. August they should get a true MMD 5.15 so that will make it worth while.
