Training dept is short staffed bc whoever is the person that releases hired instructors off the line won’t bc the line is short. It’s a big cycle that won’t break until they bend and give the training dept more guys.

Even if it is 6 months, that’s still ridiculous. Should be no more than 3 months to get someone through everything and on the line.

This stuff is what’s mind blowing to me. I somewhat understand waiting to start sims but once someone starts they should go straight through with only required days off. No idea how they expect people to excel in training when it’s so broken up. Never heard of a company making people go a week or more between sim sessions.

You’ve been here three months.... almost. Tell oh sage of all things airline. How should we fix it?
We have doubled in size in two years. Added an entirely new to us fleet type.
Opened facilities for training in two more cities.
Lost an average of 8 pilots/month.
Delivered 50 aircraft
Shut down a fleet
All from a 1970s wood paneled airplane hangar outside a chicken farm
Aaaaand you have to wait for sims for a couple weeks while being paid as a captain from day one with a yuuge wad of cash in your pocket. ****
You know we are slotted for only 60ish Jets right? RSV much? It’s a special kind of he— here. Enjoy

And then pair up FOs?
Have you ever seen the hot mess that is?
Is that fair for them? Two helo pilots or two riddle rubes? Or a 121 FO with one of the above. Might as well upgrade the FO with the work they have to put in

They can't because unlike the dash, captains aren't right seat qual'd and thus don't know the f/o flows.
