Agreed, this is no time to make any concessions on QOL. While the terms negotiated may be a "snapshot," it reflects more management's attitude to the pilot group than true leverage we have. The market will force the company to slowly address QOL here. It forced it to address pay rates not so long ago. Most people hired over the past few years could swallow the schedules for a true 4-5 year flow. Don't think many new hires are willing to do the same for an 8+ year flow, and less pay than competitors. My thinking is vote no, don't concede, hold the line and force the company to address the now very public QOL issues at PDT.

I think they want to take what they can get and hope classes keep filling so their flow time goes down.. i rell all my fos to do anything you can do to get out here as fast as you can.. as waiting 8 or 9 years it's too much time in this market to not be making a 100 plus.. but some of them are counting numbers till they flow...
This year 4th year captain i will make just shy of 85k... that's with 6k perdiem... next year I will make much less as triple premium is gone..
Please think about that..

So they want to make a worse QOL for those 2-8 more years one does have here, screw over 125 more people, and arguably screw over the entire regional pilots over continuing the whipsaw (in a market favoring us mind you)so one can flow 8 months sooner maybe? And that is if one can even last that long here with the dwindling QOL. And you might only get 124 pilots convinced, and then you just did all of the above with no flow increase.
Quality plan...

Meanwhile, the best candidates out there go elsewhere because some of your pilots were too stupid to recognize the bargaining power you had, but never used.
Enjoy those crappy inefficient trips. Enjoy working with pilots who chose Piedmont last, because they were rejected every other place.
Enjoy the divided pilot group, enjoy the lowest pay and the fewest days off. You just created your regional Frontier Airlines. The lowest tier possible. Where your hotels get worse, trips get worse, contract violations get worse. They go hand in hand with lower tier carriers because of weak pilot groups voting in concessionary contracts when they never had to. Just imagine what they are going to try and take if the economy gets bad.

F&H union busters notch another "win" as they foist a sub par contract on a regional airline. They get a big bonus and raise a glass after a call from your CEO to congratulate.
