Im unfortunately having to correct new fos that are taught silly stuff in the sim that isn't even in our manual... ASSR? wtf...

They need to teach people the proper war to just the 1lw and how to correctly read a STAR. Enough of my grumbles.

I want to get into training as I worked as an SFI for while a few years ago.

Any chance of a new FO being a sim instructor?
What do you have to offer as an instructor, having never flown a swept wing RJ and having mostly part 91 turboprop time?

Not line qualified or flight current with some instructor experience sprinkled on top... aka cheap long term investment.

No company line experience and being severely out of currency are both really good reasons not to be teaching someone how to be a line pilot.

And almost all of us have been an instructor.

The company wants non seniority list instructors because they’re cheaper, can’t get fed up with shenanigans and go back to flying the line and ultimately won’t flow... until they can get non seniority list instructors, NH FOs who will take a small eternity to upgrade are the next best thing.

unless things have changed in the past 12 months You have to be on the seniority list to be a sim soup. Ground is a bit different. Maybe you should apply at AA to be a Sim P. they are in need of many and hiring lot of people from different backgrounds who are not AA pilots.
