Zero is less than enough for the commuters, no?

Did they even exist?
Probably not in LGA. I was CLT based, so I had the insane pleasure of doing nothing but 4-day hostage crises.

Where are you commuting from? Remember, PDT's bases are all out stations (besides LGA), so you are looking at two leg commutes (if flying) for most bases. If you are coming from a hub airport, like CLT, it probably won't be that bad. I would say that 1/2 of our crews commute (either fly or drive), and in every base but LGA most of the trips are multi-day.

im commuting from BOS or PWM

mregan,

how did you submit your resume?

mregan 06-21-2007 09:49 AM

I went to their website and emailed my resume as an attachment. then sent a brief email about being interested in joining the Piedmont team, I got the call this morning. I sent the email about 7-10 days ago. I also have upcoming interviews w PSA, TSA, ASA, Colgan (turned it down), and hoping for AWAC. My flight times are 460TT 105 ME ...good luck

BOS to LGA probably wouldn't be too bad, plenty of shuttle flights frequently throughout the day. I know a couple guys who were doing BOS to SYR and it was sometimes alright, sometimes not so much. PWM to LGA would be one leg but not often enough to always be an easy commute. You'd have to have a crashpad in LGA due to so many out and backs. The other bases would probably not be a decent commute for you. Mostly, commuting to PDT blows, but your mileage may vary.

flyfresno 06-21-2007 02:32 PM

Yeah, BOS to LGA flights are almost always wide open and run about every hour, so that would be great once you can start bidding commutable trips. The crash pads in LGA are within walking distance from the airport, but the area has some safety issues. Just be careful getting to your pad after dark. BOS to SYR or MDT are aslo doable, but like lear said, not as many flights and they are fuller.

Is LGA still a very senior base? I know it has been historically.....also, congrats mregan

I'm hoping I don't get put into LGA. That paycheck is the same regardless of the cost of living where you are. I'd much rather have CHO because its a college town or SBY because its only an hour and a half from my parents place....free food!
