Dawn of the E170/175
Anyone have any info on this or follow the PDT social media? Seems like something is brewing...
AA did say they do not want any 50-seat aircraft in the AA network starting in 2030. Is there any official announcement coming soon, what's the current rumor mill? |

My bet would be Piedmont going away over getting the 175.
Your bet is wrong. Internal messaging has announced the deleivery of the new aircraft this morning. Piedmont will live long and prosper. It’s official We will be a two fleet business for a while as they roll out the 175s. |

Be excited for the news now and welcome the change later. But don’t get too comfortable that the regional you work for, no matter the name, will “live long and prosper”. |
So PDT getting rid of the 145s and going to 175s. How does this relate to scope clause with mainline AA? Does this mean AA will probably have to phase out contract carriers like Skywest and Republic so that their wholly owns, PDT, Envoy, and PSA will do all of the regional "American Eagle" flying?
Only so many 76 seat aircraft can do flying under American Eagle in order to protect mainline AA Pilot jobs per the mainline Pilot CBA. I wonder if the 175s deliveries will be tied to new aircraft deliveries at mainline, or maybe mainline has another aircraft order on the horizon. |

Absolutely shocking move, but AAG operates in such manner. Still, it will be great for the PDT pilots to fly something that doesn’t have 30,000 hours of farts in it before it comes to them. They’ll love the Piedmont Heavy.

We’ll see how things actually go this time. A lot can happen between now and 2028. |
