As far as vacation accrual, Year 1= 5 days, year 2= 10 days, year 7= 15 days, and year 14= 20 days. You can usually average about 15 days off in a row with placement of 5 vacation days at Piedmont.

This is why contracts are hard to compare. Your vacation accumulation is really low, but you can drop trips touched by vacation. It comes out to about the same as every other regional. It's just a different way of doing it.

These contracts are all for a decade because management knows that with a pilot shortage at the regional level coming up, pilots are going to get leverage. They are locking these contracts down while the regionals are shrinking and management has the leverage. They will then offer signing bonuses once the shortage really hits as they are cheaper than actually giving out raises. We are playing into it. We deserve to make as little as we do at the regional level due to our own selfishness and stupidity. We are worth what we negotiate and at the regional level we are really bad at it because we want growth so bad. I'm at a major so when I say "we," I mean pilots.

That made me laugh and shake my head at the same time. Do you really believe management will ever voluntarily "sweeten' the deal?" If so, wow...

Of course not... But they will when they see nobody will come work here if the deal is that bad.

We all know it's for them not us.

It is stupid. How has that ALPA pattern bargaining worked for us all these past 20 years?

Or, you could just vote NO to any and all concessions, especially when your parent company is making all time record profits. Join Envoy, Silver, Republic, and Expressjet... NO more concessions is the only way to finally stop the downward direction this profession has been in for all too long.
Your repetitive B/S excuses sound just like those management use to try and justify cuts for everyone but themselves!

When are you going to back off ?? How do you justify fooling your pilot group to vote yes just so you can keep your management seat ?? I hope Piedmont pilots are smarter and don't fall for this bs !!!

They would vote yes even without him. He's not management, he told you earlier where he is based as a pilot. Pay attention. I'm a ROA pilot, if you need to know. We will decide the best outcome in this situation. We will take care of our own first, and I am proud to do so.

Before anybody considers justifying a vote to give a single penny away...ask yourself are you happy with this?

I sure as hell wouldn't give any more money to this scum of the earth.
