Can this be a good simulation of the lantern?
Hello
I am having my first medical class 1 on friday, and i need som help from someone who have some experience from the Farnsworth lantern test.
I'm 99% sure that i will fail the Ishihara plate test, and then be sent for a further colour exam with the Lantern test or CAD.
I have never tried the Lantern test before, but i have both read and seen clips on the internet. One of the simulations is this: "https://goo.gl/utCKkv"
And also other clips that are similar, but due to the quality ( well i hope at least that is why ) I can't manage to see all of the dots, mostly i only see white.
I tried to find other simulations that where similar to the Lantern test, but with no luck.
I therefore made my own!
https://goo.gl/SaLHKF
So my question is: If you play this video with fullscreen and stand a couple meters from the monitor, can this be similar to the Lantern test? Are the colours okey, or are they too clear and bright? Or maybe this simulation is too easy than the real thing?
Hope someone out there can help me figur this out. and if it is close to the real thing, maybe i can get some sleep again hehe

Not sure, but you could get with a CFI and ask the ATC tower to demonstrate Light Gun Signals to you while on the ramp at the local airport. That is how the FAA would do a signal light test for special issuance medical for those that may be “color blind”...

According to the CAA in UK (which i belive is the same in Norway), the only approved methode if they fail the Ishihara are "Anomaloscopy", "Lantern" or "CAD"

20+ years of taking the Lantrin test and my opinion is that your simulation is going to hurt your chances of passing.
IME the lights are not nearly as distinct as they are in your simulation. My advice....... if you see any hint of color, then it is that color, e.g. there is no very light pink - it is RED.
GOOD LUCK.
