Default Getting Hired With Special Issuance for OSA?

I'm presently with a Regional, and have a Special Issuance for OSA. Since many of the applications require you to disclose any special issuance, logically I would think that the presence of such would be considered in the hiring process.

Can anyone offer any insight? Comments from anyone who either has been hired with an SI (OSA in particular) or has an SI and suspects that it has been an barrier to getting hired would be appreciated.

Thanks!

No issue getting hired with a SI. You'd be surprised how many pilots are on a SI for one reason or another. Only thing you would disclose on an app is to include the "Not valid for any class..." stipulation in the section where it asks for limitations on medical. Legally, thanks to the ADA, they cannot discriminate against pilots with SI because you are holding a class 1 medical.

That makes sense, and is certainly consistent with my understanding of the ADA. I have to wonder then why they even ask. I suppose there might be some type of limitation on the medical certificate (such as not valid for night flying) which would be a disqualifying factor???
