Loss of License Insurance - Pilot disability
Guys and girls,
Interested in a Loss Of License insurance or Pilot Medical Disability or Pilot Disability whatever it may be called.
Missed the group write up through the Union last year.
Any hints or tips?
What’s an average monthly or yearly premium ?
Thanks

Any chance you can get the union deal at open enrollment next time?
Individual policies are expensive and you'll have to pass an astronaut physical to get one, and even then I don't think they go to age 65 like some company/union deals.
But Harvey Watt is the go-to.

I 2nd Harvey Watt. Just call them and ask what's available. Union plans are best, many times they have better terms with fewer limitations. Private plans are tough, better be in good condition. I did one back in the early 90's and Harvey Watt had a tough time finding an underwriter because my good/bad cholesterol ratio wasn't to their liking. And there's always the chance the physical could find something wrong that is grounding, although if it's that serious you need to know about it.
Understand that HW doesn't underwrite plans themselves, they manage the plans for companies that underwrite them.
