Can HBV carrier be commercial airline pilot?
 

I have Hepatitis B.

However, my doctor said it is not acute and virus load is low, thus no treatment of medication needed.

My question are:
Can HBV carrier still become a commercial airline pilot?

The best thing to do would be to call the FAA Regional Flight Surgeon and ask them the question. I have found them very helpful in the past and this is one of the aspects of their job, to answer questions like this from the public.

Short answer is yes, you can gain a medical certificate, but the longer answer is that a diagnoses of Hepatitus A, B, or C is a medical deferral, and requires an evaluation. You said no medication, so no alpha interferon, but you will require a medical evaluation (in addition to the FAA medical), and it will be processed by the FAA's headquarters instead of your local aviation medical examiner.

There are services that will help streamline this process by ensuring that you get the correct evaluation and submit properly; it can take up to six months.
