Default 1st class medical delay normal

I sent in my paperwork approximately 3-4 weeks ago. I called OK today (over 40 minute hold) and they don't even show they have received anything. I did have a little bit of supporting documentation that was required but nothing the AME (30+ years doing this) said was out of the norm.

Note: Everything was submitted electronically including EKG.

1) Is this typical for 1st issue of 1st class medical?

2) Does the website https://amsrvs.registry.faa.gov/airmeninquiry/main.aspx actually update with any useful progress information?

Was it a renewal or upgrade from class 2 to class 1?

Default Initial

I've never had an FAA certification (military) besides a student in 2005 so this is an initial.

Initials can take a while if they found something that needs investigating

AME said the "first pass guy" at the FAA will have no issues with this. Any clarification on how long "a while" is?

Anywhere from weeks to months depending on which person has to review it and how backlogged they are.

Maybe too late for you but advice for others soon to separate/retire.

Military medical waiver.

Thanks Excargodog. Yeah, I wish I would have found that when I was researching months ago. Best of luck to any of my brethren to not see that as late as I have.

Anyone monitor the FAA link I posted while they were waiting?

From what I’ve seen yes, this website will update. I had to get my medical redone due to an issue with my former AME. Waiting on the replacement to arrive, the new AME was unable to print the new medical because it was done within 90 days of the previous medical. Yesterday the registry said “no medical information,” today it shows my new First Class with the new issue date.

Were there any intermediate messages or was it nothing then done?
