Had a nasty case of tennis elbow show up a couple of years ago (and I hate tennis). Doc gave me a forearm brace that limits the ability of the muscles/tendons to transmit force to the elbow when you flex your hand out. Also suggested NSAIDS over time to “put the fire out.” Ibuprofen, or something a little stronger, Indomethacin.
Good luck

I had the same problem a while back and it turned out to be carpal tunnel syndrome. I tried living with the pain until my thumb went completely numb. Easy fix with day surgery. Go to a hand expert to have it diagnosed. I wasted a lot of time with other medical types.

I had a nasty case of tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis) last year from working out and/or sleeping with my elbow fully bent every night. Even shaking someone's hand was super painful. I tried a few different braces and straps and sleeves, and while they were helpful, they didn't fix anything. Tried Gua Sha, and the Graston Technique, but those didn't do much for me either.
Figuring out early on what was causing it was good in that I wasn't continuing to aggravate the situation, but even after 4+ months of trying the above listed things, it still wasn't getting any better. The only thing that fixed the tennis elbow was using a flex bar, doing the "Tyler twist." I bought one of the red flex bars from TheraBand (colors are different levels of resistance), and after doing the twist exercise for a couple weeks it completely went away. YMMV, but it's another thing to try if nothing else solves it.
