Default Chronic Urticaria (Hives)

Does anyone have any experience with Chronic Hives and getting a Class 1 Medical? It appears it requires a deferral.

I'm itching to find out the answer to your question.

Sorry, couldn't resist.

EDIT: scratch that comment, it was insensitive.

Unless you also have angioedema or require potentially sedating antihistamines or frequent use of steroids to control symptoms it isn’t typically a big deal. Generally the FAA wantS to assure themselves that you have had a work up appropriate for the severity of your symptoms but once that’s done it’s generally a near-routine approval in most cases. YMMV however depending on severity of symptoms.

Depends greatly on how many other Special Issuance requests hit just in front of yours. And of course we are talking Civil Service, not just the reviewing physicians but everyone from the guy who picks up the mail and digitizes it into the computer to the person that males out the notification letter.

Don’t expect much output between now and 2 January though, two legal holidays, Christmas parties, etc., etc.
