Default Medical Consultants

Which would you recommend for medical consulting if you had the option of either one? AMAS or AOPA Medical?

None of them. Call the regional flight surgeons office (NY is especially helpful). They arent out to get you

Personally I would do AMAS but my union covers that. I would (and have) paid for it myself in the past.

Main reason is that you can have a candid conversation with them without possibly digging a deeper-than-necessary hole for yourself.

AOPA would be a fine place to start too.

I'm not hard over against the FAA but fundamentally they have a slightly different equity and outlook than you do.

Thanks. I just called them today. My union covers it as well.
