Default Brain MRI

Hi everyone

Has anyone had a closed head TBI and taken a brain MRI which showed iron left from blood? If so, were you able to get your first class medical back?

Thank you.

if you are otherwise normal neurologically residual from a traumatic bleed would not in and of itself disqualify you, assuming no seizures or cognitive problems. For most significant head trauma, your AME will have to defer it to the FAA medical standards people though. Although a little dated, page 8 of this url:

https://www.faa.gov/other_visit/avia...dia/201503.pdf

Tells you some of the hoops you are likely to have to jump through, depending upon the severity of the initial trauma.

Thank you for your response and encouraging words.

I haven't had any symptoms or cognitive issues whatsoever. But I was told that a spec of iron results in a 5-year wait. I'm really hoping that doesn't apply to every situation.

I'm really looking for someone who has had a similar situation with iron in the brain after a TBI that was reissued a medical in a reasonable time.

Thank you for the article. I will try to find some resemblance within.
