Default Medical consultants

Hi,

To make a long story short, I have a Special Issuance on my 1st Class medical certificate for a longstanding issue that should not affect my flying career.

My last aviation medical, I made a mistake in not bringing a report from a specialist as I erroneously thought my previous report covered this time period. I subsequently got the required report (no issues) - however due to a fluky set of circumstances (AME went on vacation), there was a two week window to add that paperwork to my file which I didn't meet. Hence my file went on to OKC, missing that paperwork, and is sitting in Incomplete-Land. When my AME came back, he transmitted the paperwork onwards, and I subsequently faxed and mailed to OKC as well (mid-March).

Everything checks out normal from the specialist - however it is currently awaiting FAA review (and has been since March). Every time I call OKC, nothing has changed.

Is there any sort of consultant / law firm who has any channels to potentially move my file along?

Thank you very much for any insights.

Call or visit your regional flight surgeon. Explain the problem to him/her. If you are a commercial pilot they will usually jump through hoops to help expedite matters.

Lawyers are likely to be counterproductive IMHO.

AMAS probably knows who to call, and they presumably make a business out of having good relationships with OKC. They are they people ALPA uses...
