New Medical
Ok so today I just re-newed my first class medical. 2 years ago I got a minor in consumption which wasn't vehicular related. When it happened I asked an aviation law professor at my school told me I didn't have to report it to the FAA when it happened because it wasn't a conviction. It was deferred for one year, and as long as it didn't happen again they weren't going to put in on my record. At any rate it never happened again, so it's a non-issue. My law professor told me that the only way I was going to have to report it was if I was going to apply for a new certificate or medical within that year of "probation." That year has since passed. Although, just to be completely honest, I still wrote that on my application for my new medical in case somehow it came up. My AME literally ripped into my about it... and basically told me that he was going to put it through but he thought the FAA would do something to me such as suspend/revoke my medical. Is there truth to what he's saying? It was the first and only infraction I ever had and it happened when I was 19. I'm 21 now. Do you think I'll be alright as far as keeping my medical?

Here's what the FAA has to say......

Now, as far as what they may or may not do, that is well above my pay grade.
