Medical Question

I am 17 years old and i got into a car accident about 2 months ago. I broke 2 vertebrates in my back. They had to put 2 rods and 8 screws in my back to fuse 5 vertebrates together. Would this disqualify me from getting a 1st class medical?

Is your movement now limited in any way? I'm not smart enough to be a doctor so I became a pilot instead. :) However, I've personally flown with guys who had tons of metal screws in their back bones, leg bones; some even had loose screws in their head… ;)
In fact, I myself have some 6 titanium screws in my jaw from an old car accident injury.

I seriously doubt you'll have any problems in the future but to be on the safe side, contact leftseat.com before you apply for a medical. I do not get paid for endorsing them however several of my former students and/or copilots have used their services and were very pleased.

Tell them what you got and they'll be very straight forward with you.

Good luck and keep us posted plz.
