Any pilots here heard of it? Any of you know anything about the FAA medical process WRT this illness? TIA.

I hadn't heard of it until your mention. AOPA has a medical section on their forum that's pretty good; a couple of AME's chime in often. If you're in ALPA, give the aeromedical dept. a call. Good luck ...
