Default Your opinion, please

My primary physician is packing it up in September. Do any of you use your FAA Doctor as your primary care giver? I'm trying to think of any potential pit falls. Thank you.

I wouldn't!!! Pitfalls, anything in your history or future that he may report to the FAA, even if it's due to his misdiagnosis of something, anything.

I don't have a PCP because I don't really get sick beyond the normal cold/flu. So the few times that I've needed some meds and/or doctor's note, I have gone to my AME because he's quick and can fit me in before I hang up the phone. Now, if I had a real-deal illness, I'd probably find someone else. I have need a few specialists and didn't consult my AME first - just disclosed it on my next medical.

The conventional wisdom is to keep it separate.

Your pcp and AME should be like girlfriend and wife. Have to have both and can not share information between the two.
