Default Anthem Express Scripts Prescription Walgreens

I was given a letter today at Walgreens that said our Express Scripts prescription drug plan will no longer be accepted at Walgreens after January 1, 2012. Apparently Express Scripts low-balled Walgreens and they said "No thanks".

There is a Walgreens on every corner where I live and after January 1st, I won't be able to use them. Everyone that uses Walgreens and has Anthem Blue Cross needs to call them up and provide feedback.

They work in Kroger.

But Kroger isn't on every other corner in all 50 states, isn't open 24/7/365, and doesn't have a drive through. This will be a major inconvenience for a lot of people.

If you have an on-going prescription, you can get a 90 day supply through the mail and avoid the pharmacy all together. Just get the doc to write a 90 day or more script and they'll even send you reminders to re-new.

I never had an issue with prescriptions until we moved over the Anthem Blue Cross and the associated Express Scripts. Now I have been told that medications are not authorized that were previously, have had dosages turned down by Express Scripts that were prescribed by my doctor, and one medication that I used to get in more than a month supply Express Scripts won't let me refill until 30 days has elapsed from the previous refill.

I don't believe that this has anything at all to do with ALPA, SWAPA, APA, IPA, or any other union. It has to do with what the company's medical, or in this case, pharmaceutical partners are. As an example, I don't remember when we voted to change our health insurance carrier from United Healthcare to Anthem BC/BS.

As for them denying or questioning some dosages, whereas I understand someone's want for the stronger dosage, isn't 25mg the suggested dosage for Viagra?

Hey, moderators.

Why do you guys move topics like this off the Cargo page? It is written to other Fedex guys, not to the community in general. If it were a "Pilot Health" issue, the OP would have posted it there.

BTW, BCBS stinks. All they do is deny coverage, waste your time and contradict what the doctor orders.

I just wasted 4 hours trying to get my prescription worded perfectly so their worthless system would dispense it the way the doctor ordered.

Checked with CVS in MEM.......they still plan on accepting Express Scripts.
I will miss Walgreens though, it was very convenient.
