DUI Medical Revocation

not sugar coating
Find another profession. sorry.
Not reporting the first, i.e. lying to the government, then getting a second ain't gonna pass muster.
Maybe I'm wrong, but regardless, best of luck in your future endeavors.
EDIT: Upon reflection - are we being trolled?

Looking for some advice if anyone can help. I received an emergency revocation from the FAA 3 years ago stemming from a Negligent Driving charge resulting in a license suspension I received in High School. I did not report this incidence on my application for a student medical or my 1st class medical one year later. I had obtained my CFI and realized this was something that needed to be taken care of ASAP. I retained a lawyer and on his advice wrote a letter to the FAA Aeromedical Division, resulting in an immediate license revocation (I fought this issue for 6 months and lost). The FAA had requested a full Mental Health and Alcohol evaluation be done at that time in which I passed in 2008. However they are requesting an updated evaluation be done prior to re-applying for my medical... But here's the kicker during my revocation I received a DUI which has not yet been reported to the FAA (as I am not required to immediately report as I do not currently hold a medical or pilots license). I have 1,100TT and have given over 700 hours of instruction with absolutely no incidences other then the above stated. I would really like to get back into the cockpit and continue to do all I can with pursing a career as a pilot. Any recommendations or help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

What am I missing here? Two DUI's?? Thats not what the OP says. Its says a license revocation due to negligent driving, followed by a DUI. But the responders are seeing two DUI's. I'm confused.

Yeah...that pretty much sums it up. I mean, I have my own dragons to slay, but just like brownie said,"if in fact what you say is true...you're done".
I'm not gonna BS you b/c I know exactly what feelings you're experiencing. Sense of loss, hopelessness, and regret! Accept your situation, take inventory and the move on. That's bout the best advice I can give you.

Even if you had gotten it through the FAA, like the almighty brownie above said, getting into a respectable employer with a license revocation and DUI is going to be all but impossible, regardless of how impeccable your record was since then.

I have some experience with this. Provided you are able to secure a First Class Medical, I believe you can still pursue a successful pilot career. It won't be with the airlines or a charter operator, but there are lots of rich guys with their own airplanes who may be willing to give you a chance. It depends how much of your time and effort you are willing to give for the outside chance. Maybe your resources would be better served pursuing an alternative career. But if it just has to be a pilot, there will be opportunities for you.
The bigger hurdle is getting the medical certification. Maybe after several costly, time-consuming years of the FAA looking over your shoulder and documenting your every move in terms of treatment, etc they may possibly issue you a Third Class Medical. Maybe. Anything beyond that... well, I agree that you're probably done.

Airwatch: Those who work at the FAA are no dummies...as you very well know...especially those in the Medical Certification Division. My reason for saying is that they probably had a behaviorist take a look at your situation:
Point One: Negligent driving plus license suspension. Why? Usually due to some type of impairment. Their guess.....alcohol.
Point Two: Legal counsel for the FAA is no slouch either. They've probably looked at or are keeping tabs on your driving and criminal records. More than likely, they already know about the DUI. They're waiting on you to bring it up first.
Point Three: You lied on your application. This speaks to your character. One of the "requirements" to be awarded a 1st Class medical is that one "must be of good moral character".
Just my thoughts.

Strongly disagree with this. If you got a DUI and didn't report it, but the FAA knows about it... they're not just sitting there waiting to see if/when you bring it to their attention. They will act on what they know. The FAA will not play a game of chicken with a pilot to see who talks first, particularly in regards to medical certification.
