Germ-X in the drawer by the cockpit, drink lots of water, sleep sleep sleep, try to eat right. I also take Centrum Multi, Kirkland B-100 B Complex in AM. Caltrate every other morning also.

Try to exercise but sometimes TDY and hotel rooms all you want to do is chill out and not hit the gym. I try to compensate with a decent diet and rest.

I typically try to keep in good shape. I run 3 to 4 miles 3 or 4 times a week. Healthy eating is important. It's also important to get a good amount of sleep. As far as sanitization, I only wash my hands after I use the toilet. I never use the wipes in the cockpit. I think the other posters are right. We need to build immunities.

I am allergy sufferer. It would start with that and launch into a sinus infection. I'm also a skeptic when it comes to trying different things. A friend of mind told me to try something called Juiceplus. Man I swear by that stuff now. I've been taking it for a year now and I haven't had one sinus infection (used to get at least 4/year) and ive only had a couple very minor colds. Never had a sick day since I started it. I also use common sense and wash my hands an wipe down the cockpit before each flight.
FWIW

Only problem is 25 dudes took a whiz/poop and came back into the cockpit without washing their hands.

But I agree with your points, yes....

What? Do you guys have AIDS or something? Geez, get an immune system or kick your parents' butts for not letting you get one. Didn't you ever lick a fly-swatter when you were a kid? Or pick up dog poo and throw it at your friends? Honestly. Kids these days... ;)

I just wanted to share a very nutritional meal replacement with all of you that I have been taking for months now and have seen several benefits as well as saving money! I know it seems expensive at first but if you take it instead of running into the terminal between flights and grabbing a burger your save money ($4 a meal) and improve your health. I save on average $75 a month. :D

Its a meal replacement called, Shakeology. Its helps lose weight, prevents heart disease, helps regularity and includes only natural ingrediants. And, honestly it tastes great just like a Chocolate Milkshake! Please check out this site and read all of the benefits as well as the Doctor recommendations. I'm sharing this with you because I spent forever trying to find a healthy alternative and I can safely say I'll be on it for the remainder of my career. I've lost 12 lbs by dedicating myself to this. There are two flavors but I recommend the Chocolate. You get a 30 day supply at a time and you'll receive free shipping when you order Home Direct (Monthly Autoship).

This reminds me of the spam emails I get for boner pills...

Take a quality probiotic from a natural food store, and choose one that is in a refrigerator. Most illness begins in the stomach, so it is imperative to supply quality bacteria to your gut. Also, stuff a small greens supplement in your bag. It's a great way to get some veggies in a shake vs. eating some greasy food from the airport.

Most illnesses that pilots get start in the sinuses.

Eat dirt. It's gritty and tastes remarkably like...well...dirt. But it's full of stuff you should have an immunity to by the time you're an adult. And if you don't, you will after eating it and getting sick. ;)

Eat more greens..

Eat more greens and exercise. Drink plenty of clean water. That should do it.
