Can the FAA access PCP records?
 

Does anyone know if (and under what circumstances) the FAA can access notes or lab test results from an exam conducted by one's primary care physician (PCP) (not an AME)?

I had a lab test come back abnormal, was retested 6 weeks later and it came back normal. Would like to just remain quiet about this on my next FAA medical exam but am wondering if the FAA could ever get hold of the abnormal test result? Anyone know?

The FAA may not find it; however, heaven forbid you get involved in an accident investigation, and the NTSB may cite that particular record and use it against you.

You will have to declare the visit in the block that requires you state all health care professional visits in the last three years.

They won't find as a matter of routine, but if there is an accident (or some other grounds for suspicion) they will subpoena your health records.

We had a guy whose PO-ed ex-wife dimed him out for some medical issue he had not reported to the FAA. She actually regretted that after he lost his tickets and went from six-figures to walmart greeter...with commensurate alimony decrease.

If FAA needs more info they will request from you a statement from the doctor you listed. If NTSB is involved, they can subpoena records.
