You dont have to disclose that on the medical. If you were cited for a traffic violation while under the influence that would be a different story.

i did though.... what i did was go to an AME in chicago, passed tyhe medical exam, but he wouldnt issue it to me because of the fake id charge i got last winter. i send him an explanation of what had happend and everyhting as he asked me to do, he forwareded it to the FAA in Oklamhoma City and they send me a letter back saying i needed a an evaluation by a licensed alcohol abuse pyschiatrist.... so i have contacted one in north chicago and the only one in this area... he wants 2 grand for the eval and im going in on friday to prove that i've never had an alcohol problem and i think im still going to have to notify him that im only 19 years old....
i havent drank in 3 months and im certain that i do not have an alcohol problem. no DUI's no felonies neither anything thats serious...
come on its not like i killed someone, i just used a fake id to buy some drinks and hook up with some girls.

What stage in your career are you? Student pilot? CFI? Before spending $2K I'd look for other options. Join AOPA and then call there counseling service.

when i applied and gotten myself into this mess I was going for my initial 1st class medical ready to start school(24 minutes of flight time). the letter was send to me on the 18th of october, and it said that i only had 30 days to take care of this eval thing. so i called em back and they gave me the doctors phone number so i already made an appointmet. right now all im worried is to get my medical nothing else cuz its been buggin me and its taken 5 years of my life in the past 2 months.
Im only 19 like i said and i definetly know that im not an alcoholic, or have any problems. all i did was try to buy beer with a fake id. im not even a heavy drinker or anything. i dont know why they are making me go through all of this. anyways tahnks for the replies people.

Unless you really do have a substance abuse problem, this should not affect your ability to get a medical or an airline job.

A little late now, but I don't think you had to disclose that to the AME in the fisrt place. Airlines will ask about your criminal record, be honest and tell them what you learned from the incident. DO NOT get caught with booze again until you turn 21. Multiple alcohol related incidents will raise big red flags (even though this incident was silly).

Contact your local FSDO or drop by for a visit. Doesn't seem like it could do any harm at this point. And try AOPA, really!

i know ********* up putting all that info on the medical application... but it did ask to list all convictions or felonies. u know this was my first big step into aviation and i didnt wanna go in there on the first day and already lie to ppl. i went in there with the right atitude and take things serious but being too naive, guess ima have to pay big bux now.
