First class medical with hernia?

Hey, everyone, what's up?

I got a a friend who is considering going to flight school, and he was asking me about it. (As I am currently in flight school.)

I was explaining the medical cents and he told me he had a past history of an abdominal Ernie surgery, and wondering if that would disqualify him from. A first class medical. I wasn't sure (and I'm getting some conflicting responses from google.)

Does anyone here know if a history of a hernia surgery disqualifies you from getting a first class or third class medical? Or is that something that he could just call up an AME and ask?

Thanks in advance for any helpful responses.

First class medical with hernia?

Hope not. I had corrective surgery earlier this year. My company let me take sick leave to recover. Then, last week, I simply reported it on my 8500-8 (medical app) when I renewed my First Class.

It's a pretty common out patient surgery that doesn't limit your physical ability.
