First class medical with hernia?
Hey, everyone, what's up?
I got a a friend who is considering going to flight school, and he was asking me about it. (As I am currently in flight school.) I was explaining the medical cents and he told me he had a past history of an abdominal Ernie surgery, and wondering if that would disqualify him from. A first class medical. I wasn't sure (and I'm getting some conflicting responses from google.) Does anyone here know if a history of a hernia surgery disqualifies you from getting a first class or third class medical? Or is that something that he could just call up an AME and ask? Thanks in advance for any helpful responses. |
First class medical with hernia?
Hope not. I had corrective surgery earlier this year. My company let me take sick leave to recover. Then, last week, I simply reported it on my 8500-8 (medical app) when I renewed my First Class.
It's a pretty common out patient surgery that doesn't limit your physical ability. |
