Strabismus and 1st class license

Okay so im 18 and i was born with strabismus. i had two surgeries when i was like 2 and 4 to straighten out my eyes and the surgeon said i was going to need another when i was about 16. I'm getting what will hopefully be the final surgery in about a month/ month and a half that will straighten out my eyes. I called 3 different air medical examiners and none of them really helped they didn't have a clue but the general answer was it shouldn't be a problem. I was wondering if anybody around here has had or knows if this will affect me getting a 1st class medical license. I don't suffer from double vision or anything like that, my left eye just drifts upwards then comes right back which the surgery will hopefully fix permanently. Thanks for the help

This doctor ... Bruce B Chien CFIA-I-MEI-ATP - Home ... will give you a straight answer, and is a good choice to get a physical from as well.

You're on the right track by asking first. Do not take the physical until you're sure about any issues. Don't even fill out the (online) form until you've consulted someone knowledgeable.

my approach would be to submit to a 1st class exam - u may pass! If not ask the AME to defer to FAA (usual procedure anyway). The FAA will then tell you exactly what you need to submit (eye MD etc) and off you go! They may want reports from surgeries but again wait till asked.
