Default Alternatives to P90X

Now that it is winter and I am home most of the time on reserve, I find it difficult to go running. Last year I did P90X for a month, but I had to stop because I could not stand Tony Horton any more. He literally has to talk the entire time and 99% of the things he says are pointless and makes me feel like a tool just for listening. That being said, I like the routines and even tried to just watch the videos on mute. The problem with that is I have seen them so many times that I know right when he is saying a dumb joke and I just hear him in my head.

Does anyone know a similar video exercise program with a host who just provides instruction and isn’t trying to be my buddy?

P90X is just repackaged old fashioned exercise. Remeber Body For Life, from 90's. Guess what that was ? Same thing

Not knocking it but the formula is and always will be strength + endurance + diet + rest = results

Look into Tabata training. It is basically short interval high intensity training using bodyweight, weights, exercise machines/bikes or almost anything. There is even a timer download app for the Iphone. I just started adding these to the end of my weight workout and they really can raise your heart rate.

Oh come on. The Tonyisms are the best part! I've done 4 rounds of P90x and I am going along with every "Bam!" or sexual innuendo to "Drea". It's just a work out program... you don't have to take what is said all that seriously.

Alright, I know many others who are like you who cannot stand Tony but if you know the routines, just mute it and put on your own workout playlist.

I've never done Power90 (the precurser to P90x) but supposedly Tony is a bit more chill and less like he is in p90x. What ever you do, stay away from P90x 1 on 1 or P90x2... hahaha.

My wife is doing Insanity. Not sure if Shaun T would bother you but she says he is pretty motivational. But again, with any home work out routine...can't you just mute it once you get what to do and put on your own music?

join a crossfit box for a few months (at least) and you'll pick varied routines that you can take with you on the road and requires little no gear.

I'm a big fan of the the Insanity videos; no gear necessary and straightforward to do anywhere on the road.

Incase anyone was wondering, the Tapout XT videos are just as irritating to watch.

You can also print out the p90x workouts. Once you know the moves there's really no reason to have to watch/listen to Tony. I agree he's annoying.

Whatever you do, moderation is the word if you are not somewhat fit right now.

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) will give you the best workout of your life. It blows P90X, Crossfit, all of those wannabe programs out of the water. Nothing compares to getting your body in "fighting" shape.
