Yeah 500 cal a day is crazy low but I wanna shoot for 1500 and cardio 3 times a week min. Hard on the road but you're proof it can be attained. Well done.

I got back into the gym 4 days a week, cardio 3-4 days a week on top of that and I spent most days at 500 or less calories. Normally that would just make me feel like crap, but I felt fine. I ate nothing but a few boiled eggs and a couple packs of tuna a day. I don't know if I should be used as an example. I've always been able to change my body pretty easy, even at my age. Also, give the fact that I've usually been in decent shape, I think that may have helped. I'm not saying it was easy, I just stayed consistent and the fat melted.

Since I bring my lunch on my 4 days, I would diary the food ahead of time to make sure it would all work. This bled over and now I diary ahead of time. Now's it's like, "Oh I'll be home tomorrow so I know the wife is going to want to get ice cream so I'll have to eat lighter that day to make space for the ice cream." I've been going on three months and I'm down about 17#, just disciplined myself into logging. The lower number on the scale is the reward.

If you aren't already, use the myfitnesspal app. It will keep you on track.

Three years ago my blood sugar reached 120 and I was up to 225 (5’9”). I started walking 5 miles a day and quickly lost 20 lbs. Then on a whim I tried running a mile or so on a treadmill. After a few weeks of run/walking I could run five miles in about 1hr and 10 minutes. I kept running five miles a day as it made me feel so good, the weight kept coming off. Then I tried a half marathon and that went well. Joined a running group and now I’m a full fledged running fool. Weight is down to 170, I ran 200 miles in August and I eat drink anything I want to.

My last half marathon was 1hour 40 minutes, last marathon I did in 3hr 37 minutes.
I thought I was too old to run, but I’m 51 and have no issues still.

Nicely done. Didn't get up that high (6'1"/210#) fast (1/2m 1:48), or far (120mile/month), but same here (175#/50yr) until I needed heel surgery, finally did it last last month. Can't wait to get back on!
