EKG

I'm a first officer in my 40's. My last first class medical was Jan 2013 with an EKG. Today, I got a new first class med to fulfill the requirement to interview with a current first class cert. I did not do the EKG today. When do I have to get another EKG? Jan 2014 or can I wait till this new first class expires?

You have to have an EKG annually once you're over 40. So, technically speaking, your 1st class will be invalid after Jan since you did not do an EKG this time. You might be able to get by with it, but it's possible you could get a letter from the FAA saying that you don't have a valid EKG on file.
