Workout supplements.
I was wondering if anyone here is into bodybuilding, and if so, do any of you guys know of any good supplements and pre workout drinks that are good and don't give any false results on drug test. I was looking into "craze" which had some good reviews but bodybuilding.com and the military bases stop selling due to apparently having some people test positive for amphetamines.
Also is anyone here taking the arnold Schwarzenegger protein series drinks? are they any good?
Anyways, any good info is highly appreciated.

To supplement my workouts that focus on overall/core strength, I also do fun cardio stuff like mountain biking, trail running, scrambling, snowboarding, snowshoeing, in between or on the same days. I don't believe "muscle bound" body builders are "in shape". They may have one kind of strength, but to me being "fit" means being able to do a lot well. The side bonus is that the weight training makes all of these other activities more fun.

^ not at all what he's talking about.
Largely, the supplement industry is marketing and bs. You want a preworkout? Drink a cup of coffee. Find a multi vitamin and a decent whey protein, then call it a day. Fitness is 99% programming/routine and diet. And about 1% broscience and "supplements."

Supplements are unregulated by the FDA and the manufacturer is not required to substantiate what's actually in a supplement. In most cases, supplements only succeed at giving you expensive urine.
Spend the extra money on buying high quality nutritionally dense foods. If you have to eat supplements, make sure the ingredients are "standardized" which is as close to ensuring pharmaceutical grade ingredients as you can get.

But yes, diverse cross-training complemented by a comprehensive weight routine is the way to go. Combined with diet and moderation in booze, you can set your "how I feel clock" back 10-20 years.
The cardio keeps you healthy, the weights prevent injuries...especially as you get older. You can tailor the strength training to your preference. Lighter weight for toning/injury prevention, or heavier weights if you want to bulk up a bit.
But either way, make sure the strength training is comprehensive...work all the major groups and injury-prone stuff: Squats, deadlifts, core, shoulders.

If you want a supplement, get some basic whey-protein powder at whole-foods, etc. Be leery of all the unregulated additives in the typical GNC brands...maybe OK, but you don't really know.

If you know what you are doing, True Nutrition - The Highest Quality Supplements and Protein at the Lowest Prices is the best place you can go. You build your own mix. The price is good. No additives. You control 100% of what goes into your mix.

your in the right direction bb.com is where you can go to get the best reviews info and deals on supplements. I would stay away from the preworkouts because of the drug tests ( im assuming your in the military.... the original craze and jacked had the DMAA ingredient, the new formulas dont... ive tried the DMAA and let me tell you its amazing haha. ), but preworkouts are sketchy because of whats in it. if I had to pick it would be c4 and then maybe craze...just stick with an EC stack or drink coffee. Other than that just buy some ON protein and a multi and your good to go.
Heres my list for you:
http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/opt/whey.html
http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/ce...4-extreme.html
http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/univ/animalpak.html
I get all of that at my local costco on top of my grocery list. I would check into seeing if C4/Craze new formula pops up on tests though ( im pretty sure it doesnt ). Honestly you only need the whey protein and save money on cheaper vitamins.

The link below is to Iron Addicts. A much better non-broscience forum than bb.com
