FAA AME in the KATL area
 

I am currently overseas but have previously used Dr. Stacy Vereen in ATL for my FAA medical. I heard that he was diagnosed with lung cancer last year and had closed his practise.

Can anyone recommend a good AME in the area. I would need an experienced AME familiar with special issuances.

Northside - Jane T. St.Clair, M.D. in Norcross

Don't know where you'll be coming from but Dr. Shadeed is in Smyrna which is about a 30 minute drive from the airport. He took over the AME that used to be located at the airport in ATL and then moved the practice closer to his home.

No appointment necessary, you can just fill out your online FAA MedExpress info and walk in. My understanding is that he transitioned from regular medical practice and he and his staff do nothing but AME/FAA flight physicals now. If you have any pre-existing issues it is always best to consult ALPA aeromedical first, then call their office. His staff will tell you what they need to keep you up and running.

I recommend Dr. Faulkner, just off of VA Ave. on the north side. $130 w/o EKG.

Steer clear! She's inept at handling special issuances, resulting in a 6 week lapse in my medical certification. I'm flying 28 years and never encountered another AME who had such trouble with a simple issue.
