Quick recipe
 
A big misconception is that A)Steaks take too long to cook and B) eat steak is expensive. However these are completely false when compared to your local fast food joint. I usually eat steak 2-3 times a week. Usually after a good run. I figured it out and $2.99 a lb surloin steak is cheaper than fast food. After adding ranch style beans and corn it's roughly $4 for the entire meal and total cooking time is roughly 12 minutes. Next time you go get fast food mark how long it took you to get there, get the food, then get home.

Get some steak seasoning from HEB. Sprinkle a little around on both sides, put it in a tin pan in the oven and set it to broil. Cook 6-8min(depending on how you like it), flip, another 6-8 min.

Some people have problems telling how well their steak is cooked. A good way to find out without pulling it out and cutting it open(releasing juices) is to use your hand. Touch the palm under your thumb:Rare. Pinch your thumb and pointer together:med-rare. Pinch thumb and middle together:Med. Thumb and next finger:Med-well. Thumb and last finger: well done.

Also I like to make my own sop to put onto chicken and steaks or anything else I can toss on the grill. Take a little pot and put in 1x12oz can Budweiser, 1xsmall can of musterd, 1x italian dressing, 1 stick of butter. You can mess with these some till you get them the way you like them. Boil it down for a few minutes so it burns all the alcohol off and it makes a great tasting sop.

I just decided to write this because I was over at a buds house and he always eats crap and when he found out I eat steak 3 times a week he said I had to be spending an arm and a leg but really I don't. Every now and then I get a nice T-bone cut 1-1/2" thick and toss it on a grill but that's a rare occasion. Anyway if you feel like eating steak enjoy.

Also when you buy big chunks of steak make sure you cut them into the smaller pieces you plan on cooking and wrap them seperately. You don't want to learn about freezer burning your meat the hard way.

You know what else is good, take some chicken lay it in a tin foil boat, then pour Newsman Italian dressing over it. enclose the boat completely and throw it on the Grill. 45 - 60 mins its perfect (depending on temp of grill)

you can dice up some potatoes and put them in there own tin foil wrap with some seasoning on them and put those on there too... same amount of time! Its good and easy to make!

I'm not sure I understand this. Can you explain this a little better?
