Another factor is that some other regionals are getting less flying (one is leaving the AA network very soon) and we are increasing flying.

We have more lines for October than we did June/July/Aug. We are flying more and more. We aren't seeing a decrease in flying during the non-peak times. That is another difference between being wholly owned and contract. The contract carriers have the big swings in block hours and the WO don't (generally speaking).

“We are announcing that as of February 1st we are eliminating the Knoxville crew base. This will be further detailed in the upcoming displacement bid to exercise section 8.A.3 displacement rights of category closure. While there is no additional base planned at this time, crew planning will do it’s best to keep you updated, as we understand this effects your lives. We always are actively looking to make sure a base is in its best position, regarding our reliability and operation. Stay tune for any further updates.”

Any idea as to why? I'm new to 121 but I am guessing a base closure is a bad thing? How will this affect one's seniority in other bases?

I was at another 121 carrier for a couple of years and when they closed a base, a bunch of guys from that base came over to my base. Because of that they bumped me down. My base had around 110-120 lines, and I was about #120 before the displacements took place. After the closure/displacements, I was #140ish without the increase in lines, so I became more junior in that base although my system seniority stayed the same.

I'm betting that wasn't supposed to get posted yet and someone got trigger happy. What is another base besides Philly that PSA could open?
