It came from the LOA... which definitively has an expiration date!!! Now the pending question is if the company will allow it to expire.

It won't happen. As it is, the company wants to open up some articles of the contract for negotiation (since they're hurting for people) and the union is ready with some pretty good demands. Allowing the pay to go backwards would be extremely counter productive.
Besides, the LOA is good through Dec 31, 2018 (with retention bonus agreed through end of April 2018), so there wouldn't be changes before 2019 (of course there's an option of extending and improving the LOA).

If they do it would be incredibly poor decision. They would loose a bunch of pilots and the classes would be empty.

Thanks Tiger.
We are looking at an overall experience level, and to ensure that you meet the hour requirements for ATP. We understand that the military world and civilian world do things very differently. I have gotten very good at digging through military logbooks and making sense of them.

The question was whether pay would go back down... the answer to that question currently is yes. Under the current LOA pay goes back down. While I agree that it probably won't happen and the company and union will come to an agreement prior to it's expiration it doesn't change the answer. If my crystal ball is working I would anticipate a pay scale overhaul making the "temporary" LOA rates permanent with a simultaneous adjustment to the CA pay rates. Increasing the CA rates would provide an incentive to upgrade and solve the CA manning issue. If I'm not mistaken all of the WOs have the same deal with the same terms... so, all 3 have the same issue.

I am on vacation this week, and have been a little slow to answer, but I am trying to spend an hour a day or so getting to everyone's questions.
For prior 121, the interview is typically about the same. We do offer Skype interviews for those that would like one, and qualify. If you have any questions about this, send me a PM on here. I can pull your application and see if you qualify and talk to you about it.
Since I am one of the people that will be interviewing you, I can't really tell you about the interview and what we ask. That wouldn't be fair. But there are some good gouge sites that are pretty accurate. AviationInterviews has some good info, but there are others.
The idea of an interview is to get to know you, and to see if you are prepared to start class with us. We talk about weather, approaches/SID's/STAR's, and other things that you should do every day if you are a current 121 pilot. We may ask about some FAR's, maybe a little about your current airplane, or some "tell me about a time".
The longest part of the interview day is us telling you about PSA, explaining the benefits, and going over our scheduling. That usually takes over 90 minutes. We encourage questions. We normally pull up our own schedules, show you FLICA, and anything else that you want to see. There is also a pilot with you all day, even when you are in the "holding" area and waiting for your interviews. This way, you can ask any questions that come up.
