Just answering my own questions through perusing the threads and anyone who wants a quick snap shot of these type of questions. I know the repeat of these questions can be maddening for a recruiter. So again thank you.

Currently, pilots out of IOE have been getting build up lines in CLT. Depending on the base and how long it takes you to finish IOE you'll be on reserve 0-3 months. You are in training and IOE for 3 months (give or take), the most junior R1 base is DCA (4 months) and most senior CLT (close to 7 months). However, build up lines are even more junior obviously - exact dates and numbers will be available on the forum in a few days when round 2 closes.

- Currently, no sim during interview.
- Indoc is 6 days in Dayton, OH. Total training footprint is about 12 weeks from the first day of class until you are finished with IOE.
- Training pay is 75 hours a month, plus 24/7 per diem.
- Reserve is zero to 6 months. Depends on base. As we receive more airplanes and attrition picks up, it should stay around 3 months.
- Currently, you can hold any base within a month or so (if not initially). It partially depends on your age when you start class. If you are senior in your class, you may get CLT but the most junior guys will not.
- Line bidding. We bid on lines and then are able to swap and move around trips at will during the SAP.

Hello.. long time lurker, first time poster

Should be nearing my ATP mins here in the next few weeks. My question pertains to bonuses, sap, and moving on to the majors.

Do you have to pay the bonus back if you leave early or is if yours to keep even when a major calls within the first year?

I'm excited to fly jets but I'll be honest, I could not be less excited to be flying for a regional so I'm looking for one that is the best of the worst- im told sap makes this phase a bit better. Can I sap down to almost no work whatsoever? Are there any sap restrictions?

My next question pertains to the flow and moving on to the majors. I'm excited to be an American Airlines pilot flying psa planes but how do I speed up my flow time to bid for either the 777 or a330? Would I have to apply outside of the flow to do this? In today's hiring climate and need at the majors, I assume that I will be at psa for a year tops, 2 at the worst case scenario... but does coming from an AA wholy owned give me an advantage at delta or untied since they'd be stealing aa pilots?

Are there any protection to the pilots getting their job and seniority back with PSA once the pilot flows and IF layoff happens at American? Or if they don't make it thru American training?

Are you military or have prior 121 time? Making the move to a major as someone new to the industry in a year will be impossible. Plan on at least 5. Also dont be fooled by rhetoric, you will be a PSA pilot flying PSA planes; you can apply to AA outside of the flow, its pretty rare that they hire one of your pilots off the street but it does happen.
