That's actual credit. You will be flying less... way less. Most likely you will have 5 day reserve block. You may have to sit at the airport (if you are SCR - unless you are TYS based), you will be DHing around the system and probably fly about 10-20 hours in 5 day period. On the other hand you will only be on reserve for a very short period of time, if any (DCA doesn't have any reserve lines this month, DAY didn't have any reserve lines few months ago).

There is no way to tell if you will get one or the other.

I flew 86.42 hours of credit the only month I was on reserve.

They take effect on the first day of the month, usually 1-2 months later.
Upgrade bids are also every 2 weeks. Typically, there are 12-14 upgrade bids every two weeks, and class starts about a month later (usually a little less).
If you have the seniority to hold any base, you could probably change bases 12 times a year, but I haven't really looked at the bids that closely to see if it is really possible.

Last month I was Round 2 at DCA. Moved to CLT for August and was awarded LCR. Lo and behold, they made me an entire line with 12 days off and 82 hours credit. With all the upgrades there must have been plenty of flying left over. August will be the start of my 6th month and I have only had a few days of reserve and doubt I will have any more.

I am a fitness model by no means, but I try to maintain healthy eating habits and exercise. How difficult is it to maintain a healthy diet while on your trips?
I am sure it does not take long to get an idea of the type of food offered near your common gates. Is there enough ground time to find a decent snack to bring back to the aircraft?
Thanks for the information.
