Let me be very direct about a few things.
- The company does not get PBS without major ALPA involvement in building pairings, and soft pay gains.
- The company does not get PBS without major ALPA involvement in running that PBS, to include ALPA access to every under the hood parameter that the company gets access to.

Yes, an initial PBS award will give senior people what they want ahead of junior people (as it should be) but we don’t yet know the specifics of what SAP will look like in a PBS world. Feel free to judge ALPA then. Both the company and ALPA are clear that SAP is not going away. What EXACTLY the parameters will be in the future we don’t know.
In the meantime, wait until the reserve rules come out and judge us from there.

thanks for reiterating?
Seriously though, you seem to need to have the last word final say exercise my authority over everyone thing going on, maybe you need a girlfriend ?

We’ve got some very smart people on the initial stages of this thing, and soon will have to bring in some more. Baby steps.
And quite frankly, can’t argue about the girlfriend thing. I really need to get back to CLT.

The only way we get a say in the matter is by expressing our concerns to the reps. You've done that, right? If they get enough feedback from the membership maybe the MEC will put it to a vote among the members, but it is at their discretion. The company wants pbs, and the way the MEC slaps us with LOA''s, past history has shown that it will come our way without our a vote. That is my opinion.
Alarmist? I think not. Just stating the obvious.

This has never, and never will be, tossing the company the keys to PBS and hoping it works out.

Reserve rules will never be great until we have senior guys/gals bidding reserve on purpose. I hope you all impress us deeply with these reserve rules imporvements. Just then the pilot group will gain a little more confidence in our union.

My general issue with you post was it was the typical wishy washy statements that we see on here with no faith in ALPA to manage and operate this, the company will just keep producing crap trips, the company will just give us our schedule and that’ll be it, etc.

Btw how can we fix reserve rules if the biggest factor we have is scheduling inefficiencies? Reserves cover all of schedulings f ups and inefficient changes so with reduce reservist available(assuming better reserve rules included increase min days off) that means no one to cover scheduling and all of their chaos. So scheduling needs to become way more efficient since they’ll have less reserve to cover their butts. Again, this is assuming reserve is so good people work a little less and less people on reserve on a given day.

Trip Rigs & Duty Rigs
[These mean that if the company doesn't use pilots efficiently, they still have to pay for them...Effectively forces the company to use pilots more efficiently.]
