Leaping from 135
Hi guys. I was hoping to get some insight about 135 capts that have recently made the move to PSA. I see that regs allow previous 135 turbojet PIC time to be used towards the requirements of 121.436 in lieu of/combined with previous 121 time. Will these 135 PIC hrs actually lead to a new hire upgrading sooner or even right away (if they had a 1000)? Or does the company still require a certain # of company hrs, 121 hrs, etc before offering the left seat?

If I recall correctly there must it must be turbojet with at least ten passenger seats. Meet that then you're good. Not sure if there's a restriction to how much of that counts towards 121

I’ve already sorted that part out. Was just wondering if there’s been any recently hired 135 guys that were offered upgrade earlier or immediately if they had the 1000 hrs for 121.436 requirements

There is no company time requirement.
That said, the company may not adhering to the company-specific time requirement. It appears to impact a Part 91 or 135 pilot more than a prior Part 121. |

That may not be entirely accurate...FOM 4.13.7.

I am in a similar situation. However I feel it is better to get off probation before being too ambitious, not to mention I have mixed feelings about condemning myself to SCR, for 2+years. Based on all my inquiries, the answer is YES. Once you have 1000 hrs of any combination of that FAR time required, and you bid upgrade, you will be awarded, but there Is an additional requirement of 300 hr with the company as and FO, (FOM 4.13.7 as others have stated).it can be waived with:
-2500TT, including - 500 hr ME turbine, and either, - 500 PIC part 121 or - 1000 121 SIC So I guess the answer is “kind of.” Because you need 300 hr with the company as an FO, if you don’t have the 121 time needed to be exempt from that requirement. |
This isn't always adhered to by the fact that someone from my class made captain immediately following IOE with only prior 135 experience.
