I'm assuming you have or are very close to 1000 hours 121 time so you will be put directly into the left seat. You will not see a round 1 line for ~3 years and our reserve rules are horrible. Our contract is extremely thin and poorly worded, allowing the company to interpret and manipulate for operational necessity. The schedulers have a fairly high turnover rate and are notorious for assigning illegal duty contrary to the contract. Whether they are just bad at their job or intentionally pushing like a fly by night cargo operator, it can be debated either way, bottom line is our reserve rules are atrocious and you won't be home with your family. You'll be sitting 8 hour airport hot reserve on average of 4-6 days a month with 11 scheduled days off. Look at the seniority grid that gets posted monthly and see for yourself, it's a long road to CA round 1 line holder. If I were you I'd keep my current seniority and upgrade/get out asap, don't make a lateral move. Keep your resume updated, there is a lot of hiring going on and the "flow" is a gimmick imo. Every year you're in a regional you're losing money/seniority some place way better.

I'm not sure if you are talking about 3 months on reserve as a FO, which might be possible at some of the bases. However, if you have 1000 hours and are either going to get hired as a Street captain type or want to immediately upgrade (or forced to upgrade) from what I hear you will be on reserve for possibly years.

I'm trying so hard not to make a lateral movement. I'm sitting on 800h 121 time. I could probably upgrade within the next few months, but I'm just tired of working a lot and the ****ty hotels that they put us in. I just don't want to be here for years on those ****ty schedules we have.

You said that you're not a come to PSA cheerleader. I'm just curious why you're against it.
I'm thinking about leaving my regional and coming over to PSA, mainly because I'm averaging 12 days off a month where at PSA you guys are averging 17 days off a month. I have a brand new baby and I value my time at home. 17 days off a month! That's amazing.

It’s the most important thing you’ll ever do.

As an FO.
