PSA Rapid Upgrade?
I just heard this from a friend at PSA that they are hiring FOs to do "Rapid Upgrade". It looks like when you come in as an FO you can choose to upgrade right away if you have the time and are getting the $16,520 bonus, $5,000 bonus if you have a CRJ Type, and a $20,000 bonus prior to starting. Not sure exactly what the stipulations are though.

Keep in mind these are just one time bonuses. You can go to Endeavor or Republic and make close to the same or even slightly more as a FIRST OFFICER during your first year. Some of their first officers are making close to 100k if they’re willing to work. You wont make near that at PSA even if you upgrade and count the bonus. And After your first year you will make (Trump voice) billions and billions and billions and billions more elsewhere. No, but seriously after your first year endeavor and republic are in a totally differently league. Also, if you take the quick upgrade you will be on reserve for at least 3-4 years here and you will have a miserable quality of life. You can go almost anywhere else and still upgrade in about a year and half and have a much better quality of life while also making more money even after you factor in the PSA bonuses.

Agreed.
While I am quite vocal here about my dislikes - I also want to say as I have before - that the majority of my experience here has been positive. Most of the crews are awesome. Hotels are generally pretty good. Hard pay with bonuses is reasonable.
That said, the contract has some serious gaping holes. Even when you do find yourself in a situation and you read the contract and make a reasonable determination that you are protected, the company will interpret it another way despite it defying 3rd grade level logic and the Union will say "the company is free to interpret the contract how they want, just like you are" instead of fighting for you.
So then you finally get enough seniority to SAP only to find out the SAP doesn't function in a reasonable manner. Then you go through all this work on your day off to trade these trips just to get at BEST an 80 hour schedule with 15 days off while other airlines are bidding and getting 90 hrs of credit with 15-18 days off without spending their day off utilizing the SAP. Our trip credits just aren't very good.
All that isn't really all that life breaking but then you will get emails from the company saying "we want to be the most respected airline" and you about die from laughing.
Could write a lot more but its already been said a bunch of times in all the other threads. Seriously do yourself a favor and do a fair amount of research about this place vs other places before you make your decision.

because you'll be sitting hot reserve, or getting converted from long call to short call eventually to hot. Then you'll prob DH twice at 50% pay to fly one leg and DH back. Sadly not really an exaggeration

Cuz unless you live in ORF or DAY. You’re going to be displaced to them once you’re forced to upgrade.
