Interview

Good Evening,

I've been on PSA's website and saw the minimums to apply are 1,300 TT. Do they allow you to interview earlier than that, 6 months out, like some other regional's?

Currently looking at Republic and PSA because of the DC basing. Even Endeavor if I decided I want to commute but that is what I am trying to avoid. Hear life at regional's is completely different when you live in base.

Been a long time lurker of the threads and forums. Getting to that point where I've started studying Sheppard Air Interview Prep and airline interviews.

Thanks for any input you may have. This will be my first 121 job.

Whenever I was going through the process a year ago I believe they were interviewing for people to be in class within three months of their ATP Minimum hour requirements. Personally this is ample time to make your decision even if you want to interview elsewhere as you choose, particularly endeavor or whatnot, you’ll have time waiting on those class dates to eventually get within the three months required at PSA and then you’ll have your cards on the table to play as you choose.

Living in base is a huge deal to QOL especially the first 8 months since your seniority will be reserve or R2 build ups mostly from DCA or CLT. Now of those first 8 months or so 3-4 will be training so you’re looking at about 4 months or so reserve last I checked but may be a bit longer.

I believe it's a 6 month window from time to interview to class date.

Depending on where you are in the DC area, you could also consider driving to ORF or PHL, both of which currently have a faster time to a Round 1 line, which unlocks SAP for you.

I wouldn’t make that drive from DC.

RIC is probably the farthest north I’d go for driving distance to ORF. Even those who do that say it’s a struggle with the constant road construction and the Tunnel.

General rule of Hampton roads. Don’t put a bridge or tunnel between you and work. That was when I was stationed there. I couldn’t imagine trying to commute outside the Hampton roads area.

Pick your favorite Endeavor base and move there. You'll be paid $20-$30 more an hour to fly the same planes on similar routes.

All the wholly owneds are well behind the curve, and not looking to catch up anytime soon.

Correct me if I wrong, but isn't it expected that the Endeavor classes will be reduced to just 1 class a month starting in December 2018... from 2 classes a month currently?
Pilot hiring cut in half due to F/O over-staffing already, and growth plans still undecided / changing. Thus, reserve duty in all bases (NY) will be extended by a number of months?

Correct... Since 9E got their new President things have been pretty quiet for them. Growth still rumored, but I think the plans may have stalled a bit. I think a lot of people are waiting to see what happens with the TSH regionals. GoJet Delta CRJs to Endeavor and United CRJs parked, Compass 175s to AA and the remainder either stay with them through some sort of buyout or go elsewhere, TSA is purchased and merged with someone is my WAG.
