PSA or Envoy

I live close to BNA. Would be commuting because my mom is sick and I really want to stay close to her. I have an interview with Envoy in a few weeks for the cadet program and I just applied for PSA's cadet program.

Assuming I got offered at both, would it be smarter for me to go with Envoy and have to commute or PSA and hope to get TYS which is easily drive-able?

Looks like it would take around 4 months to get TYS as a new hire. Does that sound right?

TYS is showing about 5 and 1/2 months to base. It does have 1 hour call out when you are on short call, so that is something to consider. I can’t really provide much on Envoy, but like any other regional they all have their ups and downs. I would focus on QOL as your biggest determinant, considering your current situation. Commuting can be very difficult and equals a lot of time away from home.

TYS. Time from end of IOE to holding TYS is trivial.

There are new hires getting awarded TYS. It’s pretty junior on the FO side now.

The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose.

This class, you might get TYS first. Next month maybe it takes a minute.

Go to the one with the base(s) within driving distance. Your QOL will be higer.

PSA if you want to be Senior Manned to upgrade, Envoy if you want to be Junior Manned into upgrade.

Nobody senior left to man at PSA. It's pretty much like fishing now - 1000 hours and you can keep them, 999 and you gotta throw 'em back.

Can we revisit this topic?

Good day. Curious to know what are the differences between these regionals in 2021

Which one has bases that would work better for you? Go there. Fly as much as you can. Get your apps in at a major early. Upgrade when you can. Period.
