Plus in my experience when you do get used on reserve you get a double/triple deadhead to work one leg to an overnight then Deadhead around the next day to do it again.

My IOE instructor said I should definitely log deadheads, since I'll get more of those. I'll have my time likety-split! /s

Essentially it minimizes how effective first/last out preferences are. For example you can be the most Senior last out pilot on reserve, but if a two day trip pops up and you're the only one with exactly two days available then you get it even if there are a dozen pilots junior to you with more days of reserve remaining.

Currently it’s at 11.2 months. If you started tomorrow I would guess 16-18 months. I don’t know how much more the company plans to grow pilot wise, but if the current pace holds steady and you don’t start for another few months it could be 18-24 months of reserve.
