Some DC hotels give crew rates. It’s expensive though. Some nights, if there is an event, will be sold out throughout the entire city.

Not. Expect reserve for a long time. Smallest base. Advancement will be idiosyncratic.

7-10 days (sometime less) if you really want to start that soon.

Sooner is better in terms of seniority. Currently 70 new hire pilots slated for July.

Oh that's awesome, pretty convenient actually. I haven't read all the threads about the subject, but any quick idea about junior bases and reserve on these?. I'd be moving to whatever base I got, no preference.

As long as you plan to move again if/when you make the next step up from a regional...I'd say working for PSA living near Cincinnati would be ok, just make sure you find a place where you can get to DAY in under 2 hours and then you have 2 base options (if you can tolerate living in Dayton that works the same). There might be some places to live that would give that flexibility with ORF/DCA bases, as well, but commuting by car seems more fickle there.

That's smart, plus I can live anywhere lol, no preference. And yeah after regionals I'd like to move for the last time, but one step at the time.
So PSA web says almost NO reserve, and I read around here that 1-1.5 years on reserve easily. Any thoughts?

Almost no reserve. #fakenews

The truth changes from month to month and base to base. If you want to move to one place for PSA that will give you the most options, it is Charlotte.

If you want a place that will be a good spot for your first year, then Dayton and/or CVG for the reasons mentioned above. Expect several months of short call ( 2 hr) reserve regardless, a little bit of long-call and/or round 2 lines, then finally a Round 1 / SAP line.

Thus my CVG/DAY split recommendation...sure, you'd have to drive to work still, but you probably won't ever need to "commute" in the way we use the term.
