4/25 Class?

My recruiter left for another job a few weeks ago and I've heard nothing since. I tried contacting the people she said to contact with questions and got nothing back. Is anyone going to this class, and have you received any contact or information? I assume there are other recruiters that we would have been handed off to, but I could be wrong.

What questions do you have, and maybe we can try to answer.

You can try contacting [email protected]

Same. If it makes you feel any better I haven't been able to talk to anyone. Victoria must have kept that place running.

Average 04-14-2022 05:30 AM

Initially, I was writing them asking to move my class date up but that fell on deaf ears and now my regular class date is the next available. I don't really have any questions now other than if things are still on track. I am curious if any others are in the class too.

I guess I will soon need to know what I will need, what I may need to study, and when I should expect to travel.

I'm not at PSA, but have you received your ATP/CTP information? That's normally the indicator things are on schedule. As far as studying goes, Get Sheppard air and knock out the written. After that your instructors will tell you what to study when you get to the school house.

Average 04-14-2022 05:46 AM

I don't need ATP/CTP, I have an ATP already.

Even the recruiters are finding greener pastures…

Yeah, not extremely excited honestly.

Griffinthefool 04-15-2022 10:29 AM

Yeah I have been wearing out their phones for weeks on end, they never answer phones or emails. Doesn't bode well honestly.

escape while you can… PSA is collapsing. They posted an add on climb to 350 looking for a new training manager in charlotte.

all of the guys I know on reserve aren’t flying and are trying to leave ASAP. One only flew 200 hrs in a year and left for Flexjet.

For real. Are you in this class or a different one?

Different. Hopefully moving it up, but who knows at this point.

switch to a different regional. You’ll thank yourself later, trust me.

friends at PSA on reserve have only flown 200 hours in the last year. They’re parking airplanes and struggling to operate.

they just posted on climb to 350 looking for a new manager of training, maybe everyone in their training department left?

If only it were so easy. Unfortunately Piedmont has its own slew of problems.

What is PDT facing? I spoke to a recruiter and they said no delays in training / IOE (took that with a huge grain of salt) but would like to know. Seems like every regional is a dumpster fire right now though.

apply to gojet commut air and republic, minimal training delays there

if you go to PSA you literally won’t fly for 1.5 years

Oh I know. I just don't feel like commuting from CLT to Republic bases is the best course to sign up for in this time of uncertainty. I appreciate the advice though.

You won’t be able to pickup charlotte as it is senior. Maybe after a few years or something, you can pick up dca, Phl, and day for sure tho

CLT is senior, certainly, but not “a few years” senior. Particularly with the pace people have been leaving lately, at all ends of the FO spectrum.

Flygenie 04-16-2022 02:47 PM

You’ll be able to hold CLT as an FO by the time you’re done with IOE and a round 1 line about a year from date of hire. You’ll be able to hold a round 1 line in DCA about 2 months after IOE. That’s what’s going on now, could be a different story in 6 months.

Grass looks always greener on the other side. CLT FO, on reserve averaging 70-80hrs of block, crediting with open time nothing less than 115hrs a month. Yes some people don’t fly on reserve, but they usually don’t try hard enough. On track to upgrade 1,5 years from DOH. All regionals seem to be in a rough spot right now, but this place is definitely not the worst (in my opinion lol)

CLT FO on short call reserve here, I’m blocking at least 70hrs per month and am on track to upgrade 1,5 years from DOH. Granted I pick up a lot of open time trips on my days off, but that also lets me credit 110hrs plus a month which is not too bad… doesn’t matter where you look, each place has their difficulties and struggles. I’ve talked to friends at other regionals and also LCC. Some say they want to leave for a LCC ASAP, some say they almost regret leaving for a LCC and should have just waited around for a major to pick them up.
This place has the advantage of junior upgrades, and those legacy carriers love to see PIC 121 time.

GoJet training is backed up. I have a buddy there who was a October hire and still haven’t started OE yet….

An update on this, November and early December hires are starting IOE. They've definitely picked up the pace in the last month.

I know someone at republic who is not having a good time right now. Everyone is having issues, grass isn’t always greener on the other side in a stepping stone industry

PSA is pretty quiet. But you should hear something within a few days of your class. I got my hotel/flight instructions just a few days before

Which FOs off reserve fly the most in order of priority at PSA? The bases

Average 04-20-2022 06:50 AM

Man, what a debacle. I really don't want to pass on the opportunity but have been offered an in-person interview with another airline.

I think you'll get an interview anywhere you apply to in this sort of market.

For what it's worth PSA's issues are similar to what you're gonna see at every regional right now. If you don't want to go to AA PSA is a pretty solid choice.

Yep. If you’re going to go to a regional, just pick any regional and accept the fact that there will be a certain degree of ‘suck’ with the problems we’re having now. It’s inevitable and it will likely continue for the next few years. If there are currently any regionals not having any issues, they soon will.

I think two others shared that they are Reserve FOs flying 70-80 and crediting 100+ and I'll just add my experience: I've been on property less than a year. I held CLT before I was off of IOE and for the month of April (which is only 2/3 over) I've flown around 50 hours (on track for about 70) and will credit at least 112. Should be able to hold a Round 1 line right around my 1 year mark (from date of new hire class). If you're willing to pick up a trip or two out of open time you can easily make an extra $2k for 5-6 days of flying. I have friends at many other regionals and they aren't crediting nearly as much...so don't write it off. thats just my 2 cents

Average 05-04-2022 06:30 PM

Honestly most people I’ve talked to all day things are pretty decent overall. I think I’ll just hope for the best and stay the course for now. It’s always darkest just before the dawn, right?! Maybe there are good things coming.

Yeah, I remember Compass guys saying that too!

i was saying that in 2019….. I left in 2020 because I saw that the ship experienced a hull breach that irreparable due to management decisions leading up to today.

I just don’t see the ship being saved at this point. Management has drawn their line in the sand wanting to get rid of SAP, wanting to implement PBS with their only their terms, and with the list of trust between management and the pilot group…..
